A Santa Monica That Works
Santa Monica is a great city, but it could be run better. We have a strong community, world-class amenities, and a local economy with enormous potential. What we need is a city government that consistently executes to unlock it.
Safe streets. Abundant housing.
Clean public spaces. Strong schools.
A vibrant local economy.

Why I’m Running
I’m Eli Gill, and I’m running for Santa Monica City Council because I believe this city can work better for the people who live here.
On City Council, my priorities are straightforward:
- A city that works for families.
- A vibrant local business community.
- Safe, clean public spaces.
- Excellent schools and parks.
- A welcoming, world-class city for visitors.
- And a City Hall that is transparent, accountable, and focused on results.
I’m running to bring a practical, resident-focused approach to City Council. Less noise. More follow-through. And a Santa Monica that lives up to its full potential.
I first moved to Santa Monica over twenty years ago and have chosen to build my life here. This is where my family lives, works, and goes to school. Like many long-time residents, I love this city and also feel frustrated by how hard everyday life has become. Families are being squeezed, small businesses are struggling, and too often City Hall feels disconnected from the practical needs of residents.
Professionally, I’ve spent my career focused on operations and execution. I’ve worked in complex, regulated environments where results matter, budgets are real, and accountability is not optional. My job has always been to take complicated problems, set clear priorities, and make systems work better for the people who depend on them.
That experience shapes how I think about city government. Good governance is not about ideology or grand gestures. It is about focusing on fundamentals, making clear decisions, following through, and measuring whether policies are actually working.
